Bibo Bergeron's 2011 film 'A Monster in Paris' was always a child hood favourite of mine. This project was for an assignment for one of my illustration classes during my final year at Emily Carr University. Student's were required to choose a movie and reinvent it's original movie poster in their signature style. I'm rather new to creating fan art, but this project was tons of fun.

The final illustration was created using both traditional and digital techniques. First, I sketched everything out in pencil and rendered out the tonal values with water soluble graphite. I continued by adding fine ink linework to areas of focal points in the poster (e.g. elements in the foreground, main characters). To give the poster the feel of an old, browning poster, I used Procreate's overlay function. As a final touch, I used Procreate to digitally add spot colours.
